Electricity Distribution Company, Ikeja Electric (IE), has stated the reason why there is power supply disruption.
IE, in a statement on Wednesday said that the power interruption is due to the current development of the Nigerian Gas Company.
“Please be informed that the current power supply disruption is a result of ongoing maintenance work on the Nigerian Gas Company (NGC) gas pipeline supplying gas to Egbin Power Generation Company.
“Consequently, this has led to temporary shutdown of the plant, resulting in extensive load shedding nationwide,” it stated.
The company pleaded with its customers saying ‘we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by this situation’ – and promised that normalcy will be restored after the completion of the maintenance work.
IE also expressed gratitude to its clients for their patience and understanding.
